A long time - no see

Hello!  I’m still here.  I hope everyone is well and still stitching. I’ve pretty much been working on Mad Queen Alice constantly since I last posted.  I’m now on page 9 of 42.  Slow and steady.  It’s good to take her off the frame and see the whole picture.  I spend so much time just looking at the small detail I forget the overall image.

We’ve been doing the university tours looking at English Literature courses for my youngest daughter.  And she doesn’t seem to want to look close to home - it took us 4 hours to get to one of them!  Lovely as that University was I quite selfishly hope she doesn’t go there as we just won’t see her much.  Eldest daughter is only one and a quarter hours away so nice and easy for her to get back!

We also spent a couple of days away staying in a treehouse in Devon.  The most amazing and relaxing place.  Came home feeling totally refreshed and had a day of sea air as well.

Anyway, it’s back to the normal grind now but hopefully I’ll see a page finish soon!

Happy stitching!

The Dragon's out!

So we have a little bit more progress on Mad Queen Alice.  This represents the full width of the final piece and about a third of page 6.  She has been put away for a few weeks (after all there is only so much 310 any one can stitch in one go) and I have got Curl Up With A Good Book again.

This is what it looked like when I got it back out of the box.

And this is what it looks like today - just about to go back in the box.

I'm not sure what is going to come back out now, I'm thinking of Save the Stitches but until I have a delve around I can't be sure.

Happy Stitching everyone.

Wow, It's been so long!

Sorry everybody (or should I say anybody who happens to still keep an eye on this blog).  I knew it had been a while since I posted but really can't believe I've not been on here since January!

Well what can I say.  Life has been busy.  We've just celebrated my youngest's 17th Birthday along with her great grandmother's 100th Birthday, such a stunning achievement and couldn't be allowed to go past without quite a bit of celebration.

As far as stitching is concerned I've only been working on Mad Queen Alice.  She is definitely a long term project but I have today finished page 5.  Just page 6 to go and then that's the first row complete.

I do go through my box of stitchy things and look at the other projects, such as the Chinese Garden Mandala and think I really should get back to them but Alice just keeps calling me.  I so want to see her face start to appear which might happen on page 8 or maybe 9.  I feel like it's so close but really with a HAED it's ages away I just don't want to put her down in case I never get the momentum to pick her back up again.

Anyway, I'll try not to leave it so long next time (yeah - we've heard that one before!!).

Happy stitching.

Belated Happy New Year

Just before Christmas Dragonfly came back from the framers.  I am over the moon with her.  Six years well spent!!!!!!

Since then I've been working on Mad Queen Alice.  Wow, have I bitten off more than I can chew!  I didn't realize it was 42 pages when I bought it, that makes it six pages wide (Gulp!).  However, I am two pages in and you can just see the start of her crown in the bottom right of the pic.  As there is quite a bit of block colours at this stage she seems to be stitching up fairly quickly.  I'm really enjoying her and just can't spend enough time stitching at the moment.

Happy New Year everybody and my 2017 bring you all plenty of stitching time!
