Getting Side Tracked!

Stitching has been very much slower this week.  Life has just been busier, with a busy weekend but I have managed to finish the "M" of "Christmas Pots" and make a start on the "A".

Mind you I did get sidetracked a little by "Theme Hospital", a game I used to play a lot when it was first release (not sure when that was but must have been around the 90's).  I loved it then and it still hasn't lost any of it's charms.  OK, the graphics aren't up to today's standards but the playabillity and the sense of humour are great.  Who can argue with bloaty head syndrome where the doctors have to pop and then re-inflate the patients head!

Happy stitching all!

TUSAL And Stash!!!

So it is the 20th January and a new moon shines down upon us all.  That mean's it's time for a TUSAL update.  My little honey pot is starting to get some colour to it!

I've really got my stitching mojo back at the moment and had a lovely quite weekend with lots of time for stitching.  I've been working on "Christmas Pots" which has contributed quite a bit of white to the TUSAL pot, but I've also started the Lizzie Kate "Brew Some Fun" which is proving to be a really fun stitch.

Here's "Christmas Pots"

And here is "Brew Some Fun"

And then there has been the final purchase for the Turtle Trot.  Here is number 10 - "Let's Be Wicked" by Imaginating.

A stash delivery also came this morning - some new bobbins because I can't see the numbers on the plastic ones any more and the number stickers just fall off.  A needle threader - 'cause sometimes I struggle with that particularly when using invisible thread for beads - it really is invisible!  And let's not forget some threads and fabric.

That lovely purpley one is Polstitches "Bewitched" and I thought it would be great for "Let's Be Wicked".  The chart only calls for three different coloured threads.  I might change the maroon one as it could get a little lost.

Happy stitching everyone!

Turtle Trot 2015 Numbers 8 and 9

Hands up if you need to be asked twice to buy more stash?  No? No, me neither so the Turtle Trot was the only excuse I needed to go spending.  I've bought the last three but one is currently out of stock.  So here are numbers 8 & 9.

8) "Brew Some Fun" by Lizzie Kate

9) "Wine a bit" by Lizzie Kate

Of course all I want to do know is start them both, especially as they are nice small projects.  I didn't buy any materials for it so I'll need to check stash supplies and see if I can get going or if I've got another excuse to buy stuff!!

Happy stitching everyone.

Turtle Trot 2015

So the Turtle Trot is being run by BAP Attack.  The aim of this is to:-

1) Pick ten pieces to stitch for 2015
2) Post progress pictures on the 10th of the month
3) Link up Here so we can all admire your progress and cheer for you
4) Hop around at the above link and see how far everyone's gotten and cheer for them.

So I've got to pick 10 projects.  I'm still coming up with some of this list but so far I  have:

1) Christmas by Heritage Cross Stitch

2) Celtic Summer by Lavender and Lace

3) Dragonfly by Heaven and Earth Designs

4) Curl up with a Good Book by Heaven and Earth Designs

5) Treasure, a  Storykeep by Heaven and Earth Designs

6)  Enchanted Flute by Heaven and Earth Designs

7) I don't know what this one is - I'll have to track it down it was released month by month several years ago and I'm sure I've got the missing bits.

And those are actually all the WIP's I have - does that give me an excuse to buy three more charts?  Happy Days!!!!

It's Get Fit Time!

Today was my first weigh in and measure of the year.  I go (or at least try to) to Curves three times a week and get weighed and measured once a month.  However, as we all know best intentions tend to slip sometimes and it turns out that I've not had a weigh and measure since September.

Well considering we've had Christmas I was quite pleasantly surprised to find I've only put on three pounds since then.  They've set me the target of loosing those three pounds by 12th February.  To be honest with you, I'd like to loose them in two weeks.  So here goes.  Wish me luck.

Christmas Is Coming

Nooo!  I hear you shout.  Not Christmas, we've only just had Christmas.  Well let me explain.

Last week I have been binge watching the first season of Broadchurch.  If you haven't seen it then you should.  It was brilliant.  You see I wanted something to stitch while I watched it so nothing too complicated.  So as this hadn't been completed in time for Christmas I thought I'd carry on with it for a bit.

The only thing is that Broadchurch was so good I literally haven't put a single stitch in it!  So one week on and it still looks like this!  Maybe I can just find somebody called "Chris" to give it to then it would be nearly finished!

Sometimes I Wish I Didn't Start Something.

I decided to take a look at some of the blogs that I used to visit and I started at Daffycat's Blog.  Her latest post was all about the Totally Useless Stitch Along and I remember taking part in it before and thought it would be a good way to get myself back into my stitching.  So I went in search of my ORT jar, which lead to me having to sort out my stitching box.

This is what I had to deal with

I eventually found my ORT jar, well I found two of them actually, both were full so one was binned and the other was emptied.  I kept the clear honey jar.

But what else was in there?  Well there was.......

Charts and projects that are on the go

Unused and never to be used charts that need to go on E-bay

A Whinnie the Pooh design that my daughter started years ago and has never finished.  Now she's seen it she says she is determined to finish it.  We'll see...

Fabric bits and pieces

Charts and magazines which shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Celtic Summer, it's beads, chart and threads

Kit and threads

And of course the compulsory rubbish!

After the tidy up the box looks like this

With the DMC case and a cushion that I made that has never really found a home.

And what it was all for, my empty ORT jar.

So I'm now ready to start the TUSAL.  If you want to know more about it click on the link on the side which will take you to Daffycat's information.  It's fun to do, for no cost and no prize!!

Over the next few weeks I'll go through that started charts and show you what I've got on the go.

Happy stitching and thanks for visiting.

That First Small Step

Hello and welcome to my Blog!

I've tried this before, Cross Stitch Crazy, which as you can probably guess was solely about Cross Stitch.  I stopped stitching for a bit and so my blog came to a holt.  I thought I'd try again.  Yes it will still be about cross stitch but also about other things.  I'm trying to lose weight - New Year, new start and all that, again something I've done before with various degrees of success.  Hopefully by following some of that here it'll help me stay on track.

My other "addiction" that keeps me away from my stitching is the Sims.  Probably an odd combination, stitching and computer gaming (although it's generally only the one game) but they work for me.  Although I can only do one at a time so when I Sim, my stitching does suffer.

So here goes for a new start in a new year.  Please come a long for the ride.
